Proofreading. The least favorite word of many writers.

You put so much time into writing your script. You outline. Then you outline again. You fret over your act breaks. You give your characters new quirks. You rewrite. You rewrite. You rewrite.

And then one day, the script is done. Or is it? Your story's on the page, but is the "readability?"

Readability? That's right. Spelling. Grammar. Punctuation. White space. Word choice. Used correctly, these elements make your script readable. Whether you've submitted your script to a contest, a production company, an agent or a manager, it needs to flow. From "fade in" to "fade out," the reader should stay engrossed. If your writing elements or style distract the reader too many times, you've given him or her the perfect opportunity to put the script down - permanently. Make sure your reader stays in the story. It's time to get your script Reader Ready.
